Jarrod Bowen’s Price Tag Revealed As Premier League Rival Eye Move For West Ham Ace

Newcastle expect they will have to pay between £65m and £70m to sign West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen, according to The Telegraph.

The English newspaper claims that the Magpies are keen on snapping up the 27-year-old this summer but they know it will be difficult for them to secure the player’s signature.

Newcastle missed out on Bowen when West Ham purchased him from Hull City for £22m in January 2020. The forward reportedly “verbally agreed” to make the switch to St James’ Park at the time before the deal collapsed due to then-owner Mike Ashley’s refusal to pay the necessary fee.

The Telegraph report it will take at least “three times” what the Hammers paid for Bowen for them to consider selling him now.

Would Bowen be interested in joining Newcastle?

As things stand, neither club has qualified for Europe next season. Eddie Howe’s men could still be given a Europa Conference League place if Manchester United lose the FA Cup final but that is unlikely to be a deciding factor in the England international’s decision.

The Telegraph say Bowen could be “tempted” by a transfer following David Moyes‘ departure from the London Stadium but that is pure speculation on their part. Julen Lopetegui will almost certainly hold talks with the forward very soon to stress how important he is to his plans.

Other suitors for the West Ham star have come and gone

It should be pointed out that both Liverpool and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Bowen in the past but the winger is clearly committed to the Irons, as well as vice versa.

The London club handed him a new seven-year contract back in October and they are under no pressure to sell him in the near future.
