West Ham Target Set To ‘Say Goodbye’ To Current Team On Tuesday With £12.7M Transfer Being Finalised

Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno will “say goodbye” to fans on Tuesday night ahead of completing his move to West Ham, according to Mundo Rubro Negro.

The Brazilian website claims that the 28-year-old’s last match for his current team will be at the Maracana against Millonarios in the Copa Libertadores next week.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Hammers have agreed a £12.7m fee with Flamengo for Bruno, and Mundo Rubro Negro have further details on the deal.

Julen Lopetegui’s side will pay the amount over three instalments, with 100% of the proceeds going to the club, rather than any third parties.

It is common practice in South America for players to be part-owned by agencies but this seems to be a very straightforward transfer with West Ham only dealing with Flamengo.

What do West Ham fans need to know about Bruno?

The centre-back started his career at Cruzeiro before making the switch to Red Bull Bragantino in February 2020. Two years later, he sealed his transfer to Flamengo.

Bruno’s performances in recent months have impressed to the extent that Brazil’s manager Dorival Junior called him up for the March internationals. He got his first cap against England, playing the full 90 minutes, before starting against Spain a few days later.

Another Brazilian could follow Bruno to the London Stadium

Technical director Tim Steidten is believed to have held talks with Corinthians about signing winger Wesley Gassova.

The 19-year-old has reportedly been the subject of a bid from the Hammers but they haven’t matched his reported £25m asking price.

Other Premier League teams, including Fulham, Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton are also interested in Wesley so, if West Ham do want to secure the forward’s service, they may want to step up negotiations sooner rather than later.
