West Ham Joined By Arsenal And Fulham In Pursuit Of “Amazing” Striker Who Could Be Available On Loan This Month

West Ham are one of three Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Evan Ferguson’s situation at Brighton, according to reports.

The Seagulls have yet to decide what they want to do with the Republic of Ireland international who has found game time hard to come by since the appointment of Fabian Hurzeler last summer.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that the Hammers, Arsenal and Fulham are watching on with interest to see if Ferguson becomes available this month.

It is believed that Brighton may be open to a loan deal but only if there is a clause whereby the club is obligated to buy at the end of the season.

Ferguson has plenty of admirers

Speaking back in 2023 when he was a teammate of Ferguson’s at Brighton, World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister described the forward as an “amazing player” following a win over Bournemouth.

Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and Mark Lawrenson are among others who have waxed lyrical about the Irishman’s abilities in the past.

Ferguson’s development has been curtailed somewhat by injuries but the interest in him demonstrates how highly rated he is.

Lopetegui has confirmed West Ham are looking for reinforcements

Captain Jarrod Bowen has joined Michail Antonio on the treatment table, with it being confirmed that the winger broke a bone in his foot against Liverpool last weekend. Asked whether the club would go into the market to reinforce their options up front, head coach Julen Lopetegui replied:

“It is true that we have these two important losses [Bowen and Antonio]. The club knows our needs and are working about [on] that.”

Considering the financial restraints the club are working under, a loan deal looks the most likely avenue to explore, with Ferguson almost certainly among the club’s shortlist of names.
