Danny Ings is “very happy at West Ham” despite not even making the bench against Manchester City, an insider has told journalist Sean Whetstone.
The striker, who earns £125,000 a week, wasn’t in the matchday squad for the 3-1 defeat on Saturday night but Whetstone’s source told him that the player isn’t leaving:
“He’s very happy at West Ham and wants to go nowhere. We had some good players missing from the bench until we get injuries.”
Unsurprisingly, this news didn’t go down well with fans on X, with many assuming that Ings is looking to see out his contract at the London Stadium:
Of course he won’t leave, he won’t get the same wages elsewhere

Ok, then he has 1 year on the bench and then leaves. His contract ends next summer.

Ings has had chances to leave West Ham this summer
It is believed that the 32-year-old rejected a move to one of his former teams Southampton at the beginning of the transfer window.
There have also been rumours that the Irons may consider terminating Ings’ contract but those reports seem to be inaccurate.
It’s hard to see where the striker will get minutes
Michail Antonio is currently Julen Lopetegui’s preferred option to lead the line, with new signing Niklas Fullkrug providing backup.
However, even if those two players are injured, Ings may not get opportunities. Jarrod Bowen can also play through the middle and, with West Ham having plenty of wingers to provide cover, the club captain could be picked ahead of the former Liverpool forward.
