West Ham And Chelsea End Up Missing Out On £30M Rated Striker As Sky Claim He Is ‘Set To Sign’ For Another Team

West Ham transfer target Eli Junior Kroupi is “set to sign” for Lyon, according to reports.

Chelsea had already been tipped to hijack the Hammers’ move for the 18-year-old, with the club expected to pay £30m. However, Sky Sports say he will now remain in France.

Kroupi will join Lyon before the transfer window shuts and he is set to be loaned back to his current team Lorient until the end of the season.

In addition to West Ham and Chelsea, the teenager had also been attracting interest from a third Premier League club: Bournemouth.

Another striker is set to seal his move to the London Stadium

While the Irons may have missed out on Kroupi, they are poised to wrap up a deal for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson before Monday night’s deadline.

The Republic of Ireland international underwent a medical at the weekend and he is expected to join on loan until the end of the season.

There were reports suggesting West Ham were concerned that Arsenal would hijack the deal but those fears have not been realised. However, there is no option to buy as part of the loan agreement.

Will West Ham look to sign anyone else today?

James Ward-Prowse has returned from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest. The midfielder was not playing regularly at the City Ground and it was decided that he would get more game time at the London Stadium under Graham Potter.

The Hammers have also made another bid for Celtic’s Daniel Cummings but the offer was rejected. The striker’s current deal with the Hoops expires at the end of the season so he is now likely to sign a pre-contract agreement before making the move down south on a free transfer this summer.
