‘What A Great Choice’ ‘We Need Both’ Fans Debate Which Striker West Ham Should Sign Before Deadline Day

West Ham are expected to bring in a striker before the transfer window closes next week.

Head coach Graham Potter has been forced to select Lucas Paqueta as a false nine in recent outings due to a lack of other options.

The Brazilian has been doing a commendable job but the club are exploring multiple avenues to reinforce the frontline with Ajax’s Brian Brobbey and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson currently the two main targets. Fans on X have been asked which of them they would like to see at the London Stadium:

Both players will be a gamble for West Ham

Due to the limited financial resources, the Hammers are having to look at targets within a certain price range. A loan deal for Ferguson is very possible but his recent injury problems mean there are concerns about recruiting him.

With Brobbey, the drawbacks relate to his scoring record. After finding the back of the net 22 times for Ajax last campaign, he has only scored 3 this season. Some have labelled him a ‘one-season wonder” as a result.

There is competition for both players

Brobbey is said to be on the radar of Manchester United, Everton and Tottenham, while Ferguson has concrete interest from Newcastle, Fulham and Leicester, with Arsenal also said to be lurking in the background.

West Ham will have to battle to secure the services of either player but the fact that they can guarantee game time means they could have the edge over their rivals.
