Christian Falk Makes Liverpool And Arsenal Claim As He Addresses Reports Linking Bundesliga Ace With West Ham

West Ham will “have a chance” of landing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush next summer, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

Writing in his Daily Briefing column, the journalist said that Premier League teams did come calling during the last transfer window, but the player still harbours ambitions of playing for Liverpool and Arsenal:

“Smaller clubs like Nottingham Forest (who unsuccessfully bid €30m this summer) and Fulham, who did hold interest in the player in the prior window, were ultimately not considered viable options for Marmoush to leave Frankfurt behind.”

“That said, West Ham would have a chance next summer. Though, it shouldn’t go unsaid that Marmoush still dreams of playing for top Premier League clubs like Liverpool or Arsenal.”

Falk does, however, feel that Marmoush should lower his sights, suggesting that he could be well-suited to a club like the Hammers:

“I don’t think, at the moment, he’s a striker made for the big six in England, but West Ham would be a perfect club for him.”

Marmoush won’t be moving in January

Frankfurt are “not prepared” to let the Egyptian international leave when the transfer window reopens in the New Year, according to Falk.

It means West Ham would have to look elsewhere if they are seeking to reinforce their forward options midway through the season. Whether they wait until the summer may depend on how much money they have to spend.

West Ham won’t get the player on the cheap

It is believed that Marmoush’s asking price is between €40m (£33.5m) and €50m (£42m), which is a valuation that Frankfurt will justify based on his performances in the Bundesliga so far this season.

The 25-year-old has hit the back of the net 6 times in 5 league games. If he keeps that form up, a lot of clubs will be after him.
