“That’s A Good Deal” – Rio Ferdinand Issues Positive Verdict As West Ham Look To Seal £15M Transfer

Former West Ham defender Rio Ferdinand says the Hammers will be happy with the amount they have paid for Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Despite some last-minute hitches, the right-back is expected to seal his £15m move to the London Stadium very soon and, speaking about the deal, Ferdinand said:

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka will probably be sold. I think they’re saying it’s West Ham. I think that’s a good deal all round.”

At the time of writing, the fullback is undergoing a medical, with the transfer likely to be made official in a matter of hours, barring any issues.

Wan-Bissaka’s move almost collapsed on Sunday night

The 26-year-old was expected to have his medical at the weekend, but there were disagreements between the player and the two clubs regarding certain payments.

At one point, it was suggested that the deal for Wan-Bissaka was in danger of falling through, but everything seems to have been smoothed out now.

It had been a tricky deal to complete, mainly because the player wanted an additional payoff from Man United. He was due a loyalty bonus if he had left Old Trafford when his contract expired next year.

West Ham are not done in the transfer market

Wan-Bissaka is expected to be the Irons’ eighth addition of the summer transfer window. The London club have already recruited Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Jean-Clair Todibo, Guido Rodriguez and Wes Foderingham.

However, sporting director Tim Steidten is still hopeful of bringing in more players, including another centre-back (if Kurt Zouma leaves), a midfielder and potentially a striker before the deadline on August 30th.

It is believed moves for the likes of Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, Paris Saint-Germain’s Carlos Soler and Roma’s Tammy Abraham could all be explored over the next couple of weeks.
