West Ham “More Likely’ To Snap Up £15M Rated Man United Star Than Duran

West Ham are “more likely” to sign Manchester United fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka than Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, according to a club insider.

Speaking to Hammers News, the anonymous source said that the London club are working on multiple fronts in the transfer market at the moment, and a deal for Wan-Bissaka is still on the cards:

“We have irons in about six fires at the moment. A deal for the full-back (Wan-Bissaka) is more likely than the centre-forward (Duran) at the moment. But never say never.”

Wan-Bissaka has less than a year left on his contract at Old Trafford but Man United are still hoping to get a fee in excess of £15m for the defender.

Why have West Ham gone back in for Wan-Bissaka?

It was reported by respected journalist David Ornstein last week that the 26-year-old had “rejected” a switch to the London Stadium so it is somewhat surprising that the Hammers have re-entered talks.

After the deal for Noussair Mazraoui collapsed, though, it appears technical director Tim Steidten has redoubled his efforts to snap up Wan-Bissaka instead. It remains to be seen if the player is open to joining Julen Lopetegui’s team.

What is the situation with Duran?

West Ham have made several bids for the Colombian international, but Aston Villa have refused to budge on their £40m price tag.

The last offer is believed to have totalled £30m, with youngster Lewis Orford also included as part of the deal. However, it looks like there is still a sizeable gap between the two clubs’ valuation of Duran.

The 20-year-old is said to be very keen on moving down to London but the Irons are now looking at alternative targets, including Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
