West Ham are “pushing to sign” Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, according to reports.
Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth claims that the Hammers are “expected” to table a formal bid, with both loan and permanent deals being considered.
Ferguson appears to be West Ham’s top target but there have been suggestions that Chelsea may also enter the race for the Republic of Ireland international, leading fans on X to question whether their club will win the battle for the player:
Not worried about Chelsea. If the kid really is interested in playing time that's the last place he will be going

Ferguson is up for sale
It is believed that Brighton are willing to part ways with the forward for around £40m. That is a steep decline on the £100m they were asking for the player just 18 months ago.
However, Ferguson has had his issues with injuries, and he has scored just one goal this season, and his valuation reflects his recent difficulties.
West Ham may have to see off several Premier League clubs
Chelsea are not the only team who could rival the Irons for Ferguson’s services. It has been reported that Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Bournemouth are also considering whether to make an offer.
At this stage, West Ham appear to be the frontrunners but they may need to move quickly in order to snap up the 20-year-old.
