“This Coming Week…” ExWHUemployee Claims West Ham Are About To Revive Move For 33.5M Rated Belgian Star

West Ham are expected to re-enter negotiations with Lille for midfielder Amadou Onana, according to insider ExWHUemployee.

It is believed that Lille are demanding between €40m (£33.5m) and €50m (£42m) for the Belgian international and Ex claims there is a sizeable gap between the two teams’ valuation of the player:

“David Moyes is also expected to ask the club to speak to Lille again about Onana and try and get some progress on the player this coming week, despite the fees currently being a distance apart.”

The Hammers’ last offer for Onana was said to be worth around €38m (£31.8m) plus add-ons, but that seemingly wasn’t enough for Lille. It will be hoped that some common ground can be found when discussions restart.

It should be noted that other clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old and Lille had been hoping for some sort of bidding war.

However, with West Ham seemingly the only ones who have made a formal bid for Onana, you would hope that will play into the London club’s hands, leading to Lille lowering their demands somewhat.
