20-16

It is usually the case that the more you spend on signings, the more you spend on agents, but Ipswich have bucked the trend.

Despite splashing out three times more on transfer fees than Everton, they have managed to spend nearly £3m less on agents.

Southampton also spent more than double what the Merseysiders shelled out but still managed to keep their fees to intermediaries pretty low.

Both Ipswich and the Saints should really be closer to the top ten on this list if their spending on agents were reflective of their incoming transfer business. Of course, it should be pointed out that contract extensions can also add further agent costs.

20. Ipswich Town -£6.3m
19. Southampton – £8.9m
18. Everton – £9.2m
17. Leicester City – £9.8m
16. Crystal Palace – £12m
