West Ham centre-back Kurt Zouma is expected to be out for up to four weeks due to an ankle injury, according to reports in England.
The £30m summer signing from Chelsea had to be substituted in the 2-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend after a hefty challenge, and supporters on Twitter are not happy about the situation:
Moyes 100% to blame. Should have rested him. Lucky he was the only one.

Massive blow. He’s the type of player who takes us from top 8 to top 5 and we knew that when we signed him. Winning the Europa League – as hard as that was always going to be anyway – is now very difficult and I think, with our fixtures, top 8 now looks likely. Shame.

Another west ham signing that can’t stay fit.
Always sign player who never play on a regular basics and now we are shocked when they break down after playing twice a week.
He’s another big built player. Will struggle the older he gets. 😐— Danny (@Danny32139759) April 13, 2022
Only if there was such thing as a January transfer window 🙃

It’s a big blow for the Hammers. Zouma has been a rock at the back, but it appears that he won’t play much of a role during the run-in. With the club still challenging for European places, it will hand an advantage to their opponents.
David Moyes‘ side are sixth points off Tottenham in fourth so Champions League qualification does look like a long shot anyway, but their chances of securing a Europa League spot could also be compromised, with Arsenal, Manchester United and even Wolves all competing for places. Hopefully, the likes of Issa Diop can step up in Zouma’s absence.
