West Ham target Fikayo Tomori could be sold if his form doesn’t improve over the coming weeks, according to MilanLive.it.
The former Chelsea defender hasn’t impressed for AC Milan since the beginning of the campaign and he has been tipped for a move back to the Premier League in January.
Milan Live claim that Tomori has four suitors in England, with the Hammers, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham all expected to vie for the centre-back’s services.
The 26-year-old remains a regular starter for Rossoneri boss Paulo Fonseca but, after making a big error against Fiorentina last weekend, his position in the first eleven is under threat.
If Tomori does fall down the pecking order, a transfer in the New Year is said to be a distinct possibility.
West Ham are known to be fans of the player
Trusted insider source ExWHUEmployee confirmed back in July that Tomori was on the radar of technical director Tim Steidten and the recruitment team.
While the Irons did ultimately secure the services of Jean-Clair Todibo instead, the club are still lacking options in the centre of defence.
Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Todibo are the only senior centre-halves available to head coach Julen Lopetegui so the arrival of Tomori would be welcomed.
Tomori will not be available on the cheap
It is believed that Milan would demand up to €3om (£25m) for the England international. That is not a massive fee but West Ham are not exactly swimming in money after spending a sizeable amount in the summer.
A loan deal with an option to buy would probably be the most that the Hammers could offer for Tomori so we shall see if such a proposal is tabled when the transfer window reopens.
