Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Alphonse Areola – Lukasz Fabianski wasn’t even in the matchday squad against Brentford so the Frenchman is expected to keep his place in goal.
RB – Aaron Wan-Bissaka – the defender’s performances have been one of the few bright spots in a difficult season for the Irons.
CB – Jean-Clair Todibo – the centre-back returned to the bench last weekend after recovering from an ankle injury so he could be ready to start at the Emirates.
CB – Max Kilman – the £40m summer signing has looked good in certain moments this campaign but you can’t help but feel the club overpaid for him.
LB – Emerson – the Italian could well be replaced at the end of the season, with his performances in recent weeks not really up to the standard required. He is likely to remain ahead of Aaron Cresswell and Oliver Scarles in the pecking order for now, although the latter is making a strong case for getting more starting oppotunities.
