West Ham manager David Moyes has been scouting Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to reports in the English media.
The Swedish international has been in great form this season, having scored 18 goals in the Championship, making him the second top scorer in the second tier.
It has been suggested that Gyokeres is being lined up as a potential replacement for Gianluca Scamacca or Michail Antonio if either player leaves the London Stadium this summer. It’s fair to say that fans on Twitter are not particularly pleased with this development:

I've never known a club getting ready for the championship as much as ours

Replacing a 23yr old elite striker coming from his best season with 24yr old hardly known striker from Coventry.

How they’re trusting this man with pennies, let alone millions of pounds, is beyond me

Gyokeres has certainly been in impressive form over the past couple of seasons for Coventry. The 24-year-old scored 17 goals last season as well so he is a consistent performer in the Championship.
That has, understandably, led some supporters to conclude that the forward is being looked at ahead of a possible relegation, but it is hard to believe that Moyes would be in charge to sign Gyokeres if the Hammers fail to avoid the drop.
