West Ham defender Issa Diop has been the subject of a lot of speculation in recent days with reports suggesting that he has made a request to leave the London Stadium.
Those claims have been disputed but it hasn’t stopped Hammers supporters on Twitter debating whether the club should consider cashing in on the centre-back in the future:
no, would take more money to find someone better than him

Yes. Overrated ball watcher, falls asleep far too often.

We paid 22m for him. I would keep for one more season. Price will only rise. Good young player. Will get better under Moyes & co.

The biggest concern for fans would be whether Diop would be replaced by a player who would be of the same quality.
The Frenchman has had his bad moments this season, and selling him to Manchester United or Tottenham for a sizeable fee would certainly add extra funds to the summer transfer budget.
However, the question remains whether manager David Moyes should be trusted with the cash to bring in someone who could do just as good a job as Diop.
There are not that many good centre-halves on the market, and selling a 23-year-old who has the potential to become a top defender may not be the wisest decision.
