Liverpool may offload Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, according to reports in the UK.
The Swiss international has been a bit-part player since he arrived from Stoke City for £13.5m last July but has impressed when given a chance in the first team by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Some West Ham fans on Twitter started a discussion over whether Shaqiri would be a good fit for the Hammers:
Ye would be a very good addition

100% yes. We need exciting players, not old slow players. Our fan base would love a player like this.

Buy Shaqiri for 13-15m, and push Yarmolenko in the middle and we’ve solved the strike problem on the cheap. Sign Rondón for 13m and we’ve got money to play with for making our defense ironclad.

No, only because we dont need him. We have Yarmalenko and Antonio there. Focus needs to be on a striker (not Mitrovic) a CDM, and possibly a LB.

Yep good a set piece very attacking minded

Considering the number of wide players that manager Manuel Pellegrini has at his disposal, a bid for the 27-year-old does appear unlikely.
With Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio, Robert Snodgrass, Andriy Yarmolenko and Grady Diangana in the club’s first-team squad, it seems to be one area where the Irons don’t need to strengthen this summer.
Shaqiri has scored six goals and provided five assists despite making just 15 starts in all competitions this campaign, but he certainly wouldn’t be a priority for the club during the transfer window.
