David Moyes’s position as West Ham manager remains under scrutiny, with the Hammers still in the relegation places after the draw against Aston Villa.
A number of potential replacements have been suggested, including Stade de Reims head coach Will Still, Burnley boss Vincent Kompany and Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick.
However, one name that hasn’t been really considered is Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou. The Australian is winning plenty of plaudits for this team’s style of play and fans on Twitter have been discussing the merits of hiring the 57-year-old:
Results ✔️ style of play ✔️ 100% no brainer for me. Definitely worth a punt

Not hard to win the Scottish league mate

I think he would be perfect for the Irons

Yes his Celtic team do great in a league which is the standard of the English national league 😂 I could manage Celtic to a nice style against a load of cowboys

Agreed, would be a very good appointment (if) we could get him.

Won trophies in a league a lot of average managers have won in. He arguably wouldn’t even have won last season’s title until Gerrard left Rangers & Rangers then started to focus on the Europa League. Look at his record in the European competitions. Knocked out all 3 last season.

I agree. He would be my choice.

Bar implementing a good style of play in a 2 team league, what evidence is there throughout his career that he could cut it here?
I’d be more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt if he was a young up and coming manager, but he’s 2 years younger than Moyes.

Postecoglou would certainly bring back the “West Ham Way” of playing, but he is unproven in the Premier League. Clubs such as Tottenham, Leicester, Wolves, Everton and Leeds have all been linked with appointing the Celtic boss but nobody has decided to take the plunge so far.
Whether the Hammers would be braver and take a chance on a relative unknown, though, we shall have to wait and see.
