World Cup Finalist Lined Up As Summer Target By West Ham

West Ham are keen on signing Besiktas centre-back Domagoj Vida, according to Takvim. The Turkish newspaper reports that Hammers boss David Moyes is looking to bring the Croatian international to the London Stadium next summer.

Any move is likely to depend on whether the London club stay in the Premier League, but it is believed Besiktas would be prepared to offload the World Cup finalist due to his high salary.

The Turkish club are struggling financially and would likely sell Vida at a relatively low price in order to get the defender off the wage bill.

Vida is 30 years of age and with 79 senior caps for Croatia, he would offer an experienced head and a commanding presence which West Ham badly need.

The Irons have struggled at the back this campaign, having the joint third-worst defensive record in the whole Premier League, and the Croatian would certainly bring some added solidity to the backline.
