West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang is on the verge of completing a move to Serie A side Sassuolo, according to reports in England.
The 27-year-old is expected to join the Italian club in the next day or so for a fee in the region of £7m-£8m.
Supporters on Twitter will miss Obiang but they also want the club to find a replacement quickly:
Will miss him, had one or two seasons before Rice took over where he was a composed, solid defensive mid. Seems like a lovely bloke too!

Wait so who’s gonna kick him out the group chat?

Why do we sell so cheap?

Surely he will be replaced

Underrated, better than Sanchez and a great guy off the pitch. Shame to see him go ⚽️⚒

If we don’t replace him that’s real bad business

A few remembered his best moment in a Hammers shirt, his rocket against Tottenham:
Will never forget his rocket against Spurs at Wembley. Can’t believe that missed a lot of people’s top 10 lists that year.

Best of luck Pedro! Your strike at Wembley was best thing I watched you do. Not a bad player by any means just not what we need to progress. Would rather kept him than Sanchez mind you so I hope he’s next!

Love the guy. That thunderbolt against Spurs will live long in the memory

West Ham have been linked with a number of replacements, with Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny and Bologna’s Erick Pulgar being the most recent rumours.
Alternatively, manager Manuel Pellegrini may turn his attentions towards an old transfer target. The Chilean has previously admitted that he tried to sign Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel in January, and a move this summer cannot be completely ruled out.
There have also been claims that the club could go after Spurs’ Vincent Wanyama, who is also available this summer.
