West Ham Weigh Up Move For 29.5M Rated Former City Midfielder

West Ham are considering whether to make a bid for Lens midfielder Seko Fofana ahead of the transfer deadline, according to reports in England.

The 27-year-old came through the academy at Manchester City before going on to have spells in Italy and France. After a season where he was named Ligue One’s African Player of the Year, he has garnered attention from plenty of clubs.

Both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were linked with Fofana earlier in the summer, but Lens have slapped a €35m (£29.5m) asking price on the player, which may have put off some suitors.

Whether it will deter the Hammers from making an offer, it remains to be seen. The Ivorian international is not believed to be David Moyes’ number one target to strengthen the midfield at the moment, but things could change.

After missing out on the likes of Amadou Onana, Matheus Nunes and Piotr Zielinski already, the club are working hard to find alternatives, and Fofana could be seen as a good option.
