West Ham Weigh Up Deal For Championship Defender But Face Competition From Premier League Rival

West Ham are interested in QPR left-back Ryan Manning, according to London Football News. The website reports that the Hammers have been joined by Watford in the battle for the 23-year-old.

The fullback’s contract expires at the end of the season, and while QPR do have the option of extending his deal for a further year, Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on his situation.

Manning has made 10 appearances in the Championship this campaign, providing two assists. He can also play as a wingback or as a winger.

It would be a surprise if West Ham are seriously considering a bid for the Irishman as the Irons currently have two left-backs who have very recently signed new deals.

Arthur Masuaku put pen to paper on a new four-year contract in July, with the London club having the option to extend his stay for two further years. Aaron Cresswell, meanwhile, signed a fresh three and a half year deal only a week ago.
