West Ham are keen on snapping up Chicago Fire striker Jhon Duran, according to reports in the UK.
Everton are expected to be the Hammers’ main rival for the Colombian teenager but it should also be noted that both Liverpool and Manchester United have been scouting the player, so they could also enter the race for his signature.
However, Duran’s advisors have suggested that he joins a team where he could get regular game time, which has pushed both David Moyes’ side and Everton to the front of the queue.
The forward has just recently finished his first campaign in the MLS, having bagged eight goals and contributed five assists in 27 appearances, which isn’t bad for a breakthrough season.
His team, though, did struggle, with Chicago finishing third from bottom in the Eastern Conference; nine points off the playoffs. It is believed that they will consider selling Duran but their asking price is reportedly £10m.
