West Ham V Leicester City – Team News And Predicted XI

West Ham performed well in the London derby against Tottenham last weekend but manager Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping to arrest another dip in form after two straight league defeats.

The Hammers face Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, who themselves are coming off the back of two losses against Everton and Arsenal.

It has been confirmed that Andriy Yarmolenko will be out for five to six months. Surgery on the Ukrainian’s Achilles injury was a success but Pellegrini is pessimistic about the winger returning to match fitness before the end of the season.

In other injury news, Pedro Obiang will not feature against the Foxes with the Spaniard still suffering from a calf injury which kept him out of the game against Spurs. He’s likely to be back for the Carabao Cup tie when they face their London rivals again on Wednesday.

Andy Carroll is back in training but Pellegrini confirmed in his pre-match press conference today that his recovery from an ankle injury means he may only be available after the next international break, although there is a possibility he could play against Huddersfield on November 10th.

Manuel Lanzini (knee), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Winston Reid (knee) and Carlos Sanchez (knee) are all long-term injury absentees.

For Leicester, Jamie Vardy is a doubt for the match after coming off in the second half against Arsenal due to a stomach bug, but Demarai Gray is set to return to the matchday squad after an ankle injury. Matt James (Achilles) remains sidelined while captain Wes Morgan is suspended.
