West Ham V Burnley – Match Preview And Predicted XI

West Ham will be frustrated after losing out to a much-changed Tottenham side in the Carabao Cup last night. The Hammers put out a strong team but suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat against their London rivals.

Next up, Manuel Pellegrini’s men will face Burnley on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets have conceded nine goals against Chelsea and Manchester City in their last two games, and there is certainly not a better time to be facing Sean Dyche’s side.

However, West Ham will have a number of players missing. Winston Reid, Manuel Lanzini and Carlos Sanchez all have long-term knee injuries, while Andriy Yarmolenko is out for the season with an Achilles problem.

There is some better news with Marko Arnautovic returning from illness to feature as a substitute against Spurs, while Andy Carroll is closing in on a return from an ankle injury, but the weekend is likely too early to see him feature for the first team.

Jack Wilshere’s recovery from ankle surgery is taking longer than expected, but the Hammers have reportedly set a return date of late November.

For Burnley, Jack Cork had to be taken off against Chelsea at the weekend and he will be assessed ahead of the game at the London Stadium. Aaron Lennon also missed the match with illness but could be back in contention.

Ben Gibson (hernia) is close to a first-team return but Nick Pope (shoulder) and Stephen Ward (knee) are still on the sidelines.

West Ham’s Predicted XI to face Burnley

Fabianski, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Snodgrass, Diangana, Arnautovic, Anderson

Burnley’s Predicted XI

Hart, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Lennon, Cork, Hendrick, Defour, Brady, Vokes

Predicted Score – 1-0 to West Ham
