West Ham ‘Unlikely’ To Hire Ex Man United Star Before The End Of The Season Even If They Sack Moyes

West Ham are “unlikely” to appoint Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick before the summer, according to The Mirror.

The former Manchester United player has been tipped as a potential replacement for David Moyes in the hot seat at the London Stadium.

However, despite being on the Hammers’ shortlist of targets, Carrick is expected to see out the season with Boro, as he looks to help the Teessiders gain promotion from the Championship.

The 41-year-old was only hired by Middlesbrough back in October but he has transformed their fortunes in the space of a few months.

The Championship side were languishing near the bottom of the table when Carrick took over but they are now four points off the automatic promotion places.

Second-placed Sheffield United lost to Luton on Saturday, while Carrick’s men secured a 3-1 victory away at Swansea. With the battle likely to go down to the wire, he won’t be moving to West Ham if Moyes is sacked in the coming weeks.
