West Ham United are gearing up to take on Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United in their next Premier League game – can the Irons take another step towards safety?
West Ham will be without Gianluca Scamacca, Kurt Zouma and newly-injured Vladimir Coufal for the game against the Red Devils (after the Czech international suffered a hamstring injury). Additionally, Tomas Soucek, Nayef Aguerd and Declan Rice are all doubts, as they are suffering from a bout of Gastroenteritis.
In their last game, the Hammers were consummately beaten by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. It wasn’t a bad display by West Ham, but they were outmatched by their opposition – the scores ended at 3-0, with City’s goals being scored by Nathan Ake, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.
Meanwhile, Manchester United defeated Aston Villa in their last game by a score of 1-0. It was an impressive result for the Red Devils, as Villa had been in good form leading up to the game – the only goal of the afternoon was netted by Bruno Fernandes.
When the two teams last played each other in the Premier League, Manchester Uniited emerged victorious at Old Trafford by a score of 1-0. In that game, Marcus Rashford was the sole goalscorer – can the Irons get some revenge on Sunday evening?
