David Moyes and West Ham may be struggling in the Premier League this season – however, they could give the Hammers massive something to celebrate with a win over KAA Gent in the Europa Conference League.

West Ham are set to be without Gianuca Scamacca for their game against Ghent, as the Italian centre-forward continues to recover from his knee surgery. On top of this, Nayef Aguerd and Angelo Ogbonna are both doubts – they will face late fitness tests to see if they are fit to play or not.

In their last competitive fixture, the Irons surprised everyone when they collected a crucial point against league leaders Arsenal. The Gunners went 2-0 up in the first half, thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard, but the Hammers battled back. Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen both got their names on the scoresheet as West Ham picked up a fantastic result against their London rivals.

Meanwhile, Ghent took on KV Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League. Despite taking the lead late on in the first half, Mechelen responded just three minutes later to equalise – the scores ended level at 1-1.

In the first leg, West Ham took the lead on the stroke of halftime, but Ghent levelled the scores in the second half thanks to Hugo Cuypers. The Hammers still have it all to do in the second leg – however, they have the home advantage.
