The Europa Conference League final is almost upon us, as West Ham United gear up to take on Fiorentina in what could be a season-defining match for both clubs.
Generally, the 2022/23 season has not been kind to West Ham, following their underperformance in the Premier League. Nevertheless, they have a golden opportunity to send Irons fans home happy as they enter the summer transfer window.
This will be only the second-ever Europa Conference League final – last year’s trophy was won by Jose Mourinho’s Roma. Can David Moyes follow in the Special One’s footsteps?
The game will take place at the Fortuna Arena in Prague, with a kick off time of 8pm GMT. The game will be available to watch live on BT Sport’s official YouTube channel.
West Ham injuries
West Ham have just one injury concern ahead of their game against Fiorentina. Gianluca Scamacca is set to miss out – however, he should be fit and ready to play again at the start of next season, should the Hammers choose to hold on to him in the transfer window.
In the last round of the competition
In their semi-final encounter, West Ham defeated AZ Alkmaar over two fiery legs of action. The Hammers won both legs of the tie, defeating AZ 2-1 at the London Stadium and 1-0 away from home.
Fiorentina, meanwhile, needed to overcome FC Basel to get this far. After falling to a 2-1 defeat in the home leg, I Gigliati turned the tables in the away leg, beating Basel by a score of 3-1 to progress through to the final.
