West Ham United Reportedly Interested In Brazilian Midfielder For Transfer

West Ham United are believed to be interested in Brazilian midfield prospect Pablo Maia, according to journalist Jorge Nicola on his YouTube channel.

Despite this, West Ham are not the only ones who are believed to be interested in bringing Maia on board. London rivals Fulham are also thought to be in the hunt – due to this, the Hammers will need to beat the Cottagers to the punch.

West Ham have had success with Brazilians in the past with players such as Filipe Anderson – this season, Lucas Paqueta has also made a considerable splash in the Premier League for the Irons.

Sao Paulo have garnered a reputation for producing international footballing superstars over the years. Some of their most notable alumni include the likes of Lucas Moura, Kaka, Juninho, Cafu and Rogerio Ceni.

Pablo Maia career summary

At just 21 years of age, Pablo Maia’s career is still very much in its primordial stages. His youth career began at Independente de Limeira, aged just 11.

He spent a year at Portuguesa Santista before being signed by Sao Paulo in 2017, where he has remained ever since. He made his senior debut for the club in 2022, making 80 appearances, scoring four and making a single assist.

Pablo Maia’s best years are still well ahead of him. The question is this – where will he spend them? West Ham would do well to focus their efforts on bringing him on board – his potential, at this stage, seems limitless.
