West Ham Try To Ward Off Interest In 24 Year Old With 40M Price Tag

West Ham will demand £40m if any team makes an approach for centre-back Issa Diop this summer, according to Claret & Hugh.

The website reports that the 24-year-old remains part of David Moyes’ first-team plans and there is no intention to offload the player when the transfer window opens.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Diop in January, with the Frenchman having struggled for game time in the first half of the season. The defender started just three Premier League games before the turn of the year.

However, he has been a regular in the team since mid-February, mostly due to the fact that Angelo Ogbonna has been sidelined with injury, but he has still kept his place even after the Italian’s return to fitness.

Diop, who has also been on both Manchester United and Tottenham’s radar over the past eighteen months, looks set to stay at the London Stadium, unless a team tables a sizeable bid.
