West Ham Named Among Four Premier League Clubs ‘Willing To Bid’ For £30M Rated Italian Ace

West Ham are considering making an offer for Leeds winger Wilfried Gnonto, according to The Mirror.

The England tabloid reports that the Hammers, along with Crystal Palace, Everton and Brighton are “willing to bid” for the Italian international, following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Gnonto joined the Yorkshire club from FC Zurich for just £4m last summer, but his valuation is now seven and a half times that figure at £30m after an impressive debut season in England.

The 19-year-old, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City, is rated very highly, having already been capped 11 times by Italy at senior level.

West Ham are in the market for a winger

Gnonto is not the only wide man that manager David Moyes has seemingly been keeping an eye on. Leicester’s Harvey Barnes and Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze have also been reported in recent weeks as players who could make the switch to the London Stadium.

Both players are expected to cost a similar amount to Gnonto, so it’s likely the case that the Irons will pick between them as to which they will go after.

Other positions are likely to be prioritised in the transfer market first

With captain Declan Rice on his way out of the club, finding a replacement is expected to be top of West Ham’s agenda.

There are reports that Gianluca Scamacca wants to return to Italy and that may force the London club into the market for another striker too, with the likes of Arsenal pair Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun, as well as Chelsea’s Armando Broja having all been mentioned as possible transfer targets.

It does appear as though a formal bid for Gnonto is quite some way off, and it may be something that is considered later on in the transfer window when other deals have been finalised.
