West Ham are lining up bids for up to seven players as they look to spend the proceeds from the sale of Declan Rice, according to The Mirror.
The English tabloid reports that former Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria, Everton’s Amadou Onana, Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, Leicester’s Harvey Barnes, Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire are on a shortlist of transfer targets that manager David Moyes has drawn up.
While some fans on Twitter are pleased with a few of the names mentioned, others are less enthusiastic about some of the prospective signings:
What an incredibly uninspiring list that represents next to no value ππ» never change West Ham

Knowing Moyes and his differing ways we'll probably sign none of them π

Barnes and Onana, JWP probably

Most of them are a straight no go.
I'd love Kyle Walker Peters!
Barnes is a must imo.
Midfield is massive but I'm not convinced by any of those above …— WestHamFan (@WestHamFan_COYI) June 28, 2023
If tske Barnes & Onana from that list, the rest, no thanks

West Ham won’t buy five midfielders
Considering that the majority of the list consists of central midfield players, it does suggest that not all of them will be bought this summer, with the likeliest to be snapped up being Zakara (who has been made available by Juventus) and, potentially, Ward-Prowse, after the Saints were relegated from the top flight.
In fact, you would have to say that there some surprising absences, with no new striker whatsoever. It has been widely reported that Gianluca Scamacca is keen on leaving the London Stadium. If the Italian international does return to Italy then a replacement will need to be found. The likes of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Chelsea’s Armando Broja have been mentioned as possible options.
