West Ham captain Declan Rice insists that he wants to remain at the London Stadium, despite ongoing speculation about his future.

When asked by a young fan about which team he would be signing for this summer, Rice replied:

“Nowhere, I’m West Ham.”

After being pressed about which club he could join, Rice remained adamant that he will be staying with the Hammers:

“I don’t, West Ham is my one.”

Considering West Ham chairman David Sullivan has already publicly stated that Rice wants to leave the club, you would have to assume that the midfielder is simply keeping his cards close to his chest.

Rice has rejected a lucrative new contract

Sullivan has confirmed that the England international has been offered £200,000 a week to remain with the Irons, but the player has not signed on the dotted line.

With Rice closing in on the final two years of his contract, the club will be forced into selling him this summer to ensure they get a decent price.

Who are the favourites to sign Rice?

Arsenal remain the frontrunners to snap up the midfielder. It has been claimed that initial talks have taken place, with a formal bid in the works.

West Ham are said to be hoping for an auction between different teams in order to bump up the price. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are also believed to be among the player’s admirers.

However, there are doubts over whether any team will be willing to match the Hammers’ valuation, which is believed to be between £100m and £120m.

There have been some suggestions that the London club would be open to a swap deal. Reports at the weekend claimed that Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe would be of interest to West Ham but the Gunners are not expected to include him in any offer.
