West Ham ‘Ready To Offer’ £34M For Brazilian International Whose Asking Price Is Scaring Off Other PL Clubs

West Ham are “ready to offer” €40m (£34m) for Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer, according to TuttoJuve.com.

The Italian website claims that both the Hammers and Tottenham are interested in the Brazilian international but Juve’s €60m (£51.5m) valuation is scaring people off.

Bremer was a regular starter for the Old Lady last season, making 43 appearances in all competitions, but the Serie A club have effectively made every player available for transfer following the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Other reports have also mentioned Chelsea and Manchester United as potential suitors for Bremer but TuttoJuve say that the Hammers are the only ones seemingly willing to place a formal bid, even if it falls €20m (£17.2m) short of the defender’s asking price.

Bremer is not the only Juventus player that West Ham have been linked with recently

The Irons are also believed to be interested in two other players from the Bianconeri. Last week, it emerged that David Moyes’ side are seriously contemplating a move to sign Denis Zakaria, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea.

Since then, it has been reported that West Ham are considering an offer for Samuel Iling-Junior; a young English winger who has come through Juve’s academy.

A new centre-back is needed

Considering the lack of options that the Hammers have in the centre of defence, it is somewhat surprising that they haven’t been linked with more centre-halves this summer.

A move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah has been widely circulated but no offer has been submitted for the German international so far. Bremer would certainly be a very good alternative.

At 26 years of age, the defender is about to hit the prime of his career. He was handed his first senior cap for Brazil in September and his star is on the rise, so securing his signature could be a tremendous coup if West Ham can persuade Juventus to lower their demands.
