West Ham Trailing Championship Rival In Pursuit Of £10m Rated American International

West Ham are behind West Brom in the race to sign Wigan Athletic left-back Antonee Robinson, according to reports in the English media.

The United States international was the subject of a £10m bid from AC Milan during the January transfer window, but the move collapsed after a problem with his medical.

A heart defect which was discovered led to Robinson getting treatment but he returned to training last week and will be available when Wigan return to action in the Championship this weekend.

The former Everton academy graduate had been performing well for the Latics before being sidelined, having made 30 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

Whether West Ham would have the funds to sign Robinson, it remains to be seen. There has been speculation that Arthur Masuaku could be sold when the transfer window opens.

If the Congolese international were to depart, the money could well be used to sign his replacement, with the 22-year-old Wigan defender certainly fitting the profile for what manager David Moyes is looking for.
