West Ham Trail Premier League Rival In Battle To Sign £18m Argentinian Goal Machine

Cardiff City are leading West Ham and other teams in the race to sign Nantes striker Emiliano Sala, according to France Football.

The French magazine reports the Bluebirds have already held discussions about signing the Argentinian.

The Hammers have reportedly sent scouts to see Sala in action over the past month or so, while Fulham, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Southampton, Everton and Brighton have all held an interest in the forward previously.

In Ligue One this campaign, the 28-year-old has scored 12 goals in just 15 appearances, including the opener against Marseille in the 3-2 win last week.

Nantes are considering whether to offload Sala as they believe this may be one of their last opportunities to sell him for a good price with his contract expiring in 2020.

However, with the striker performing so well, the Ligue One side said to be in two minds over whether to let him go or not. They are reportedly looking to hold out for a fee in the region of €15m (£13.5m) to €20m (£18m).
