West Ham Told To Pay 12.7M For Red Hot Brazilian Ace Who Has Scored 24 Goals In 25 Games This Season

West Ham will need to pay around €15m (£12.7m) if they want to snap up FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

The Hammers are said to have employed intermediaries in their efforts to secure the 23-year-old ahead of the January transfer window, with a meeting believed to have taken place yesterday.

Cabral’s agents Paulo Pitombeira and Luiz Portela held talks with West Ham representatives about a possible transfer, where the club were told about the Brazilian’s asking price

The Irons are not the only team pursuing the player, though, with Barcelona having also contacted Pitombeira and Portela recently.

It is not a surprise that Cabral is in such high demand. He has bagged 24 goals in just 25 appearances for Basel so far this season. However, it should be pointed out that eight of those came in the qualifying rounds for the Europa Conference League.

In any case, it does appear that West Ham have stepped up their attempts to find a new forward.
