West Ham Tipped To ‘Revive’ Move For Serie A Defender After Having 6M Bid Rejected On Deadline Day

West Ham are expected to “revive” their interest in Torino full-back Ola Aina in the January transfer window, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.com.

The website claim that the Hammers did make a late bid to sign the ex-Chelsea defender on deadline day earlier this month, but their €7m (£6m) offer was “deemed insufficient”.

Aina, who has also spent some time on loan at Fulham, could be signed on pre-contract agreement in the New Year as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

However, AllNigeriaSoccer claim that West Ham boss David Moyes may look to get a move completed in January so that he can play a part in the second half of the campaign.

Vladimir Coufal has been struggling for form in recent weeks and Ben Johnson’s injury problems mean that there isn’t sufficient cover on the right flank. Signing a player like Aina would, therefore, make sense, especially as he wouldn’t cost a great deal to bring in.
