West Ham Tipped To Join 3 Other Teams In Pursuing 49.7M French Flyer With 16 Goals And 11 Assists This Season

West Ham are weighing up a potential offer for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Frenchman has been in excellent form this season, having scored 16 goals and contributed 11 assists in all competitions for Leverkusen.

It was reported last month that Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle were also pursuing Diaby, who is believed to have an asking price of around €60m (£49.7m).

The 22-year-old has already spoken out about a potential transfer, stating that he could be open to leaving the BayArena:

“Of course, I’m thinking about it. But not too much yet. I’m still concentrating on the end of the season.”

Whether Diaby would actually be interested in making the switch to the West Ham, though, it is difficult to know. Leverkusen look set to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League and that is a competition the Hammers may only be playing in next campaign if they win the Europa League. For now, it’s probably best to put this signing down as a long shot.
