West Ham Tipped To Challenge Milan Giants For Bargain Serbian International

West Ham are interested in signing Napoli centre-back Nikola Maksimovic on a free transfer in the summer, according to Calciomercatonews.com.

The Italian website says that the Serbian international is expected to leave his current club when his contract expires at the end of the season, and the Hammers are one of three clubs keen on snapping up the 29-year-old.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are also said to be looking at Maksimovic, who has been at Napoli for four and a half years since moving from Torino for €25m in the summer of 2016.

The defender was linked with both Liverpool and Tottenham during the January transfer window, with his club keen to offload him before his contract ran down, but he did not make the switch before the deadline.

Maksimovic has become a regular starter under Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso in recent weeks, having made 17 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
