West Ham Target Summer Deal For 16 Goal Eredivisie Star But Face Major Competition

West Ham are interested in signing AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi, according to Calciomercato.it. The Italian website claims the Hammers are very keen on the Moroccan international but they will have to battle a number of other clubs if they want to secure his signature in the summer.

Everton, Leicester and Roma are also monitoring the 23-year-old who has been in superb form in the Netherlands this season. In all competitions, the midfielder has scored 16 goals and laid on eight assists for his club.

AZ have been performing above expectations in the Eredivisie, sitting second, just three points off league leaders Ajax, and much of that is down to Idrissi.

The Moroccan generally plays off the left-wing, cutting in onto his stronger right foot. He would certainly compliment Jarrod Bowen who will provide a goal threat from the opposite flank.

It is likely that West Ham’s interest in Idrissi will only be backed up by a bid if the Irons can secure Premier League safety. David Moyes’ side face Manchester City next up on Wednesday night.
