West Ham striker set for shock MLS switch

West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez could be set to make a shock switch to MLS side DC United this summer, according to reports from America.

The Washington Post say the club are interested in signing the Mexican international in the upcoming transfer window.

Hernandez joined the Hammers in a £16 million deal from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, but has struggled to settle at the London Stadium.

The former Manchester United star admitted his struggles earlier in the year, and said he was looking to leave the club in January after having fallen out of favour with manager David Moyes.

And he could now be offered a route out of the club via DC United, who are keen to the land the 29-year-old hitman.

The MLS club, who are currently up for sale, are also said to be interested in former Hammer Carlos Tevez, who is currently plying his trade in Argentina with boyhood club Boca Juniors.

Hernandez has scored eight goals in 16 league appearances this season for David Moyes’ side.
