West Ham forward Michail Antonio has won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for August.
The 31-year-old beat off competition from his teammate Said Benrahma, as well as the likes of Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Everton’s Demarai Gray and Tottenham’s Eric Dier to win the prize.
Antonio has been in sensational form, scoring four goals and providing three assists in just three appearances. He is an integral player for the Irons and supporters will be hoping he can stay fit for most of the season.
Hammers boss David Moyes was nominated for the manager of the month award, along with Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel, Everton’s Rafa Benitez and Tottenham’s Nuno Espirito Santo but the Spurs boss was the one who was given the accolade.
West Ham have had an excellent start to the campaign and they will be looking to build on that after the international break when they face Southampton at St Mary’s tomorrow.
