West Ham Slap £50m+ Price Tag On Star To Ward Off London Rivals

West Ham will not sell centre-back Issa Diop for less than £50m, according to Sky Sports. Tottenham are reportedly interested in the former France Under 21 international but the Hammers are not keen to let the defender leave.

Spurs are reportedly eyeing a long-term replacement for the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, and manager Jose Mourinho has previously expressed his admiration for the centre-half when he was at Manchester United.

Diop is, though, not a regular first-team player at the moment, with the 22-year-old having been unable to recover his place in the team following the one-match suspension he served against Chelsea.

However, the Irons hierarchy are very aware of the Frenchman’s potential and believe he could well turn into a top-class centre-back in the not too distant future.

West Ham signed Diop from Toulouse for £22.5m in July 2018 and the defender has gone on to make 54 appearances for the club.
