West Ham Revive Interest In Serie A Midfield Enforcer With £21m Proposal

Despite being in discussions to sign Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, it appears that West Ham are still looking at other potential options if the loan move for the Portuguese international doesn’t work out.

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has been heavily linked with the Hammers in the past and reports in Italy have claimed that the London club have reopened talks about signing the midfielder.

It is said that a €25m (£21m) bid has been tabled, but it doesn’t appear it will be enough to persuade the Rossoneri to sell the 23-year-old.

Kessie has made 15 appearances for AC Milan this season but it is believed the Serie A side are open to offloading him for the right price.

Whether West Ham will continue their pursuit of the Ivorian if their move for Gedson is finalised, it remains to be seen. Reports say that the Irons are locked in talks with Benfica over an 18-month loan deal for the 20-year-old. Manchester United and Everton are also said to be interested.
