West Ham Ready To ‘Entertain Offers’ For Key Player Next Summer After 200K A Week Contract Is Rejected

West Ham will “entertain offers” for captain Declan Rice at the end of the season, according to the Claret & Hugh.

The website claim that negotiations over a new contract have stalled after Rice turned down a proposal that was reportedly worth £200,000 a week.

Although the England international will ostensibly have one year remaining on his current deal next summer, the Hammers are likely to trigger their option to extend his stay at the London Stadium for an additional twelve months.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the 23-year-old will remain at the club. With the player seemingly unwilling to sign a contract extension, West Ham would have to reluctantly consider any bids that are tabled.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in Rice previously but there is uncertainty about whether any of the three clubs are still keen on pursuing a move.

City and United both brought in new holding midfielders over the summer, while Chelsea are expected to appoint a new sporting director who may look to target different players.
