West Ham Prepared To Withdraw From Talks With Declan Rice If Final Contract Offer Is Turned Down

West Ham will withdraw from contract talks with Declan Rice if the midfielder turns down the club’s latest offer, according to reports in the English media.

The Hammers have tabled one final proposal in order to persuade the 19-year-old into signing a long-term deal to remain at the London Stadium.

Rice has reportedly been offered a basic wage of £21,000 a week, a £6,000 a week improvement on the last contract proposal.

The midfielder will also be given an extra £5,000 a week if he reaches 15 games in a season, as well as another £20,000 bonus each time he makes a first-team appearance.

Rice’s current deal at West Ham expires in 2020 but the club may consider selling the teenager if the player isn’t prepared to sign on the dotted line.

Talks between the club and the player have been fraught with difficulty with the midfielder’s representatives keen on a much higher basic wage, and the club reluctant to give a young player too high a salary so earlier in their career.
