West Ham Prepare Summer Raid For Wantaway Manchester City Star

Nicolas Otamendi

West Ham are interested in Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi, according to reports.

The Hammers are said to be one of two Premier League teams keen on the Argentinian international, with Wolves believed to be eyeing a deal.

Chinese Super League clubs are also tracking Otamendi with the 31-year-old reportedly looking to leave the Etihad.

The centre-back was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season after he helped marshall a defence that conceded just 27 league goals.

Otamendi managed 46 appearances in all competitions during the title-winning campaign, but his game time has been reduced this season.

The Argentine has still managed to play 32 games but he has only started 14 times in the league, with Vincent Kompany, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte having been favoured ahead of him by manager Pep Guardiola.

It is believed that Otamendi will seek a new challenge in the summer with West Ham a possible destination for the defender.
